We visit local schools to give fun and engaging lessons that explain how sea turtles thrive, the threats they face, and how we can help protect them.
Through games, storytelling, and hands-on activities, children learn not only facts but also ways to make a difference. For example, they might help clean up plastic from the beach or tell their families about the importance of not disturbing turtle nests. These small actions can lead to big changes over time.
Empowering Local Communities
Education isn’t just for kids – it’s for everyone in the community. We work closely with adults too – including fishermen, market vendors, and community leaders. By sharing information about how their actions impact sea turtles, we can help them make choices that support conservation.
For example, many people in coastal communities rely on fishing for their livelihoods. We provide training on how to fish in ways that are safe for sea turtles, like using nets that won’t accidentally catch them. We also talk about why it’s important not to take turtle eggs or disturb nests. By involving the whole community, we create a network of sea turtle protectors.
